Good morning folks!

I wanted to reach out and remind teams that the final payment is due this week. If anyone needs to know exactly how much their team owes please reach out to me.
My email for e-transfer in case you don’t have the new one is grumpyadjusters@gmail.com.

Also, the city is requesting address information for our players. If each team rep can submit names and addresses (including postal code) for their players to us that would be great.
Rosters need to be submitted regardless. I’d like to have this info by Friday to submit to the city. You can send it to my email or the group email: saintjohnslopitch@gmail.com.
Please let me know if there are any questions.
Thanks!!

**EXECUTIVE / MOLSON UPDATE**
May 27th, 2021
Hey Everyone,

I wanted to send out a little bonus from Molson this year. Along with them supplying us with some refreshments they have also decided that they will hold a keg party for a team. The team with the highest amount in receipts of Molson products at the end of the year will have a keg party for their team. Please keep all your receipts and put in an envelope and they can be passed into the league and we can tally them up and have a running total so people can see who the biggest alcoholics are on the team.
This is great of Molson to do and gets a bit more competition going amongst the teams. Remember this is only for Molson products and we can get them from everyone and keep a tally on them on this facebook site as well as the website.
So get your guys to keep the receipts and see what we can do as a League.
Thanks
The Exec.

-
It is recommended that children should not be left unattended while playing.
-
No coaching conferences or group huddles.
-
All garbage must be collected and removed by each team after the game (if there are no designated garbage cans on site).

Umpires :
-
It is recommended that umpires wear a mask or face shield.
-
Umpires will provide further detailed ground rules on an as needed basis observing the necessary distancing before the game begins.
-
There will be no exchange of lineup cards, teams will keep score with their own scorekeeping books. Teams can submit their lineup cards to the umpire for game management, or the umpires can use a small notepad if they prefer. Also, teams could take a picture of their lineup card to exchange with the other team and submit if there is a question of roster eligibility.
-
Umpires will stand where they are comfortable calling the game, and at least 2 meters away from the catcher and batter.

League Specific Rule Changes (for time management) :
-
All games will be played with a 1-1 count to start
-
There will be a 6 run cap per inning, with the last inning being an open inning for both teams. This will either be the 9th inning or the last inning to start before 10 minutes remaining in the time slot.

These changes are being instituted to allow games to finish before the next games are scheduled to begin, thus minimizing the amount of people at the field at any given time.

We ask that the team representative provide their respective teams with these rules (they will also be on the league website) and that the team reps work with their players to ensure that these rules are followed.
Teams and or players who do not adhere to the suggestions put forth by the league risk being refused to participate and will face possible suspensions from future league games.

***NEW FOR 2021****
The city has asked us to add the following to our return to play plan :
-
Immediately upon the completion of the game, all members will leave diamond arena and parking lot arena. There is to be no congregating after the game at the facility.
-
Teams will collect contact information of all participants and spectators at each game for contact logs
-
Yellow Phase- anyone planning on coming to the field will completely passive screening – COVID questionnaire
-
Orange Phase- Active screening will take place at the field.
-
No food or drink at the field with the exception of individual water bottles.

Community Face Masks
Yellow Phase of Recovery -Are to be worn when 6 feet of social distancing can not be maintained. While masks are not required by individuals while participating in an organized sport, they must be worn at all other times, including between practices and games, etc. Any participant not in frequent substitution should wear a mask. (eg. coaches, substitute players)

Orange Phase of Recovery- Are mandatory at all city recreation facilities (indoor or outdoor, with the exception of the playing surface. For low-intensity activities where mask use is tolerable and practical, masks are required in addition to the 2-metre physical distancing requirement. Team benches should not be used unless they maintain 2m physical distancing.
**masks are not requires on the playing surface but you will need to have a plan in place for the dugout/team bench.
Some groups are limiting the dugout to only on the on deck batter and players are lining up along the fencing social distanced, and other groups are wearing face masks in the dugout. I have received questions on this so below is an update to the City Plan for clarification.
Dugouts and team benches
Dugouts and team benches are open at fields. If using the dugout or team benches and users are unable to social distance masks must be worn by all players and coaches.

Just an update for everyone.
The Executive will be working with Team Reps to add the teams and players on the SPN website as is required this year. You will each receive an email notification once you’ve been added, which will prompt you to complete your profile on the site. Once there you will click on the insurance waivers which you MUST complete prior to being allowed to step onto the field this season, as you will not be insured otherwise.
Let the Executive know if you have any questions.
